Lake Michigan Table

Port Exploreum
Lake Michigan Table
Located on the first floor of the Port Exploreum, the Lake Michigan Table instantly catches the visitor’s eyes. Various aspects of the day’s weather are displayed—wind direction, cloud cover, air temperature and wave height on all parts of Lake Michigan. During the winter, discover where the Lake has frozen over. Touch the table to learn what ships are out on the Lake, their speed and direction. You can also track the SS Badger and the Lake Express as they make their daily trips across from Wisconsin to Michigan. Delve into information about key areas around the Lake including lake depths, shipwrecks, conditions of the area, and points of interest. A mix of written word, pictures and videos helps you discover why Lake Michigan is such a marvel.
