The Nicholas Poull Building was built in 1858. It has been occupied by various taverns over the years.

318 - 320 North Franklin Street

The Notting and Kessler Building was built in 1883. The first floor, 320 N Franklin Street, was an early meat market. A phone directory of 1900, lists the occupant as August Koopmann, saloon. In the 1940s to the1960s, the occupant was Home Meat Market: Math Schnitzer, proprietor.

322 North Franklin Street

The Mathias Adam Building at 322 N. Franklin Street was built in 1859 and served as one of the thirteen saloons along the street. In the 1940s through the 1960s, it was home to the Farmer’s Exchange Store offering: Groceries, clothing, dry goods, meats, shoes, and liquor. Their motto was: We give you cash or trade for your eggs and potatoes! You always save money here.
